The more children are exposed to UV radiation, the greater their risk of developing sun cancer in later life. Sun exposure in the first fifteen years of their life has the greatest contribution to sun cancer than any other equivalent exposure later. It is vital to protect children's skin and create lifelong sun smart habits.

3. ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO PICK THEIR SUN PROTECTION GEAR - MORE OWNERSHIP MEANS THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO WEAR IT

4. SEEK GEAR THAT IS FASHIONABLE AND APPEALS TO THEIR AGE BRACKET (SUN SAFE GEAR NEEDN'T BE DAGGY- check out www.babesintheshade.com.au

5. BE GOOD ROLE MODELS - WEAR A SUN SHIRT, HAT, SUNGLASSES ETC - IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO START BEING SUN SMART (BUT THE EARLIER YOU START THE BETTER!)
